That headline either means a bunch to you or means nothing at all. I'm guessing a 20/80 split (with 80% of you having no idea who he is or why anyone would care).

(I don't actually care that much, honestly, but he's still an important figure in some ways and deserves some recognition of that.)

Not sure if I should admit to knowing who he is or not. Can't say he's had much influence in my life, I guess, but some of my friends would probably be bummed.

Wait... I take that back. Even though I'm not into D&D and LARPs, I do like RPG-style video games. I'm sure there's some heavy influence there. So, maybe he has influenced my life.

This is an IM conversation I had with one of my friends:

Me: Failed his SAV vs. Death. Sorry, had to go there.

Bud: ah, but that would be save vs. paralysis, poison, or instant death. i think the newer 3rd ed rules apply now, so it's save vs. Fortitude, which is also oddly appropriate

Me: The article says he took quite a hit to his CON recently.

Bud: abdominal aneurysm agrees

It's a wonder we ever got to have sex with tha ladiez.

Wow, the sad/funny part of that is that the person who told me about it joked that "I guess he failed his saving throw". Great nerds think alike, I guess. ;)

Just boo.

Although I can't help but wonder what the difficulty modifiers for wrong medication and abdominal aneurism are.
