(Or as I like to call it, "The Bliz". We're tight like that.)

So for those of you who weren't aware, we got over 26 inches of snow over the weekend in NYC - a record, I believe. On Sunday, early afternoon, around 3/4 of the way through it, we took the kids out sledding. I figured, hey, huge blizzard, we'll be all alone out there (or close to it). Woah, was I wrong.

It was cool - almost like some sort of spontaneous party. And one of the things I loved best was that it wasn't just kids - I saw hordes of adults heading out, bearing skis and sleds and snowboards, and there were just as many adults sliding down the slope on their sleds as kids. No one was embarrassed or self-conscious or anything, everyone was just having fun.

After that, we headed over to the Tea Lounge, which was also surprisingly packed to the gills, and got a chai and a couple of hot chocolates and then headed home.

Beautiful way to spend an afternoon.
